Austyn Taylor, born in 1984 in Rochester, New York, is a nomadic sculptor known for her transformative works that explore themes of isolation through the prism of cherished American cartoon motifs. Her artistic journey has taken her to various corners of the globe, showcasing her creations at esteemed venues like Miami Art Basel and SOFA in Chicago. Having earned her Alfred MFA in 2016, Austyn’s sculptural endeavors have propelled her to embark on numerous enriching residencies, including stints at Guldagergaard in Denmark, CAFA in China, NCC Minneapolis, Sonoma Ceramics in California, MSU Texas, and VARDA in Sausalito, California. Embracing the role of a teaching artist, Austyn holds a profound belief in the unflinching honesty of working with clay.
